Required Items:
Axe (a blessed axe will not work)
Raw chompy (bring several if you have a low cooking level)
Iron spit (made on an anvil with an iron bar)
Logs (can be obtained during the quest)
Tinderbox
Pickaxe
Ogre bellows (can be obtained during the quest)
Ball of wool
Ogre bow or comp ogre bow (can be purchased from Rantz during the quest for at most 600 coins)
Ogre arrows
Recommended:
Antipoison, armour and some food (if low leveled)
Chisel, knife, wolf bones and feathers if you are making your own ogre arrows
Fast travel to several locations:
Lumbridge (Lumbridge teleport)
Feldip Hills (Feldip Hills teleport, Fairy Rings to
aks or the Eagle Transport System)
Tai Bwo Wannai (Tai Bwo Wannai teleport, Fairy Rings to ckr or travel via Brimhaven)
Start Point:
Inspect Skrach Uglogwee in the Lumbridge Castle Dining Room.
Introduction
1. Inspect Skrach Uglogwee:
Head to Feldip Hills (fairy ring code AKS).
Talk to Rantz, southeast of his cave.
2. Preparations with Rantz:
Walk southeast, talk to Rantz, and follow the dialogue.
He will kick a tree and ask you to turn it into a boat. Use your axe twice to make a boat.
Talk to Rantz again, and he will shoot an arrow at a tree in Karamja.
Cook a chompy for good luck. If you don't have raw chompies, kill birds and collect raw chompies before leaving. If you didn't bring logs, cut a regular tree in the area to get a log.
3. Journey to Karamja:
Use the fairy ring teleport (Karamja is CKR) or travel to Brimhaven.
Find the tree with the arrow northwest of Tai Bwo Wannai village.
Light a fire next to the tree and use your iron spit to cook it.
If successful, Rantz's children will take you back on the boat.
4. Jubbly Bird Hunting:
Rantz will ask you to make a bloated toad as bait.
Fill your bellows in the swamp and use them on an inflated toad.
Mine rocks west of the swamp to get a "rock."
With the stone and wool in your inventory, inflate the bellows with swamp gas and use them on your inflated toad to create a bloated toad.
Drop the bloated toad south of Rantz's cave or east of the gnome glider.
5. Jubbly Bird Hunting (level 9):
Wait for the Jubbly bird. If it doesn't appear, you'll get another bloated toad.
When it appears, kill it with your ogre bow.
Pluck it, take the meat, and cook it on Rantz's ogre spit.
6. Conclusion:
Return to Lumbridge Castle and use the cooked Jubbly on Skrach Uglogwee. If you eat it, you'll have to get another one.
7. Tip:
Killing and cooking several Jubbly birds can be beneficial in case you accidentally burn or eat some.
