Dagannoths, assigned by advanced Slayer masters upon completing "Horror from the Deep," offer high Slayer XP rates and easy task completion. For a tougher challenge, experienced players can face the Dagannoth Kings. Weaker Dagannoths can be found in the Lighthouse basement, Jormungand's Prison, and Catacombs of Kourend. Use a dwarf cannon for efficiency in the first two locations, and consider prayer equipment and a bonecrusher in the Catacombs to minimize the need for prayer potions.
This type of dagannoth comes in three levels: 74, 92, and 100. The level 100 version is encountered during the Horror from the Deep quest, preceding the Dagannoth Mother. It doesn't yield any drops and can't be faced again post-quest. Its sole attack is melee, dealing a maximum of 9 damage.
The level 74 variant within the Lighthouse employs a ranged attack, inflicting up to 10 damage but possessing reduced accuracy. Meanwhile,
the level 92 dagannoth employs a more accurate melee attack, causing up to 8 damage. In other regions, both levels rely on melee attacks.
The Lighthouse basement facilitates multicombat, enticing players to employ dwarf multicannons for training. However, this strategy is inapplicable within the Catacombs of Kourend. Despite their Combat level, these dagannoths are deemed relatively weak compared to their counterparts on Waterbirth Island. They also appear vulnerable to poison. Players with decent defense stats should endure prolonged combat with ease.
Magic:
For optimal Dagannoth hunting, the Lighthouse emerges as the prime location, thanks to its accommodation of a dwarf multicannon. This choice substantially boosts experience gains, given the Lighthouse's designation as a multi-combat region. Consequently, the cannon adeptly targets multiple Dagannoths simultaneously, greatly expediting the process. To reach this site, employ the Fairy Code A-L-P, guiding you to the Lighthouse's exterior.
While safespotting Dagannoths in the Catacombs of Kourend is possible, it may not be completely consistent. Melee fighters can utilize the vicinity of safespot 2 to engage one Dagannoth individually.
For optimal results, employ safespot 3 while the Dagannoths remain in their aggressive state. By positioning the Warped Jelly between yourself and the Dagannoths, they will align in a way that forms an effective safespot.
