Gameplay

Before delving into Tears of Guthix, it's essential to understand how the game works and some key gameplay elements.

Warning: Tears of Guthix is not suitable for combat and skill pures because it rewards experience in the player's lowest skill. If you fall into this category, it's advised not to play this minigame.

Entering the Cave: To start the game, you'll need to engage with Juna by sharing a story. Once you've done so, she'll provide you with a special bowl, which requires both of your hands to wield. This bowl will grant you access to the game area.

Collecting Tears: Inside the game area, your objective is to collect as many blue tears as possible within a limited time frame. However, there's a catch: you must avoid the green tears, as they reduce the number of blue tears you've collected.

1. Blue tears grant you experience points, so they're your goal.

2. Green tears, on the other hand, should be avoided, as they diminish your blue tear count.

Tear Spawn Mechanism: Tears within the minigame are not stationary. They flow from the walls for a limited time before changing locations randomly. Here's how it works:

1. Each stream of tears lasts for 9 seconds before relocating.

2. There are a total of 9 potential stream spawns in the game area.

3. At any given time, there can be a maximum of 3 streams of each type: blue, green, and blank.

Timing and Strategy: Mastering the timing and strategy can significantly impact your performance in Tears of Guthix. By observing the tear spawns, you can make informed decisions:

1. Predicting the next tear color can be advantageous.

2. Staying in one spot can save time, especially if you anticipate the next stream's color correctly.

Time Limit: Your time limit in the cave is determined by the number of quest points you've accumulated. The more quest points you have, the longer your time limit will be. This, in turn, increases your potential to collect more tears.

1. You receive one game tick of time inside the cave for each quest point you've obtained.

2. With 298 quest points, you can achieve a theoretical maximum of 294 tears during the game.

The Reward

Reward: After your time within the Tears of Guthix minigame is up, you'll exit the cave and have the opportunity to drink from the tears you've collected. This process grants experience to your lowest skill based on the number of tears gathered. Here's how the reward system works:

The amount of experience gained per tear increases as your skill level in the chosen skill increases.

It provides 10 experience per tear if your lowest skill level is 1 or 26.6 experience per tear if your lowest level is 20, capping at 60 experience per tear when your lowest level reaches 30.

Players who have completed the Lumbridge hard diary will receive an additional 10% experience boost.

Determining the Skill: In the event that you have multiple skills at the same level, the reward will be allocated to the skill with the least experience. If several skills share the same amount of experience, the game follows a specific order to select the skill:
